Online Lesson Options

• Zoom video call to watch the lesson assignment videos together and discuss

• Teacher written feedback on lesson assignment videos

• Teacher written feedback on a video of the student's practice session

Instructions

Send videos and pictures: 

Upload unlisted videos of the student playing their lesson assignments to YouTube and e-mail the links to the teacher prior to the lesson time. Include in the e-mail a picture of the past week's assignment sheet and pictures of any music the teacher doesn't have.  

The camera angle for uploaded videos (as well as the video call if doing a Zoom lesson) should show a side angle of the student's hands (the same view the teacher would have for lessons) and if using pedal, then the feet as well.

Zoom Set-up

Use a device with a decent microphone. Under "audio settings" (depending on the device, audio settings might be near the microphone symbol or under "more"), disable "automatically adjust microphone volume" and select "original sound for musicians." The upper left side of your video screen should say "Original Sound for Musicians: On." If it says "Off," then click it until it says "On."

The meeting automatically expires after 40 min. If the lesson time is longer than 40min., then the student will immediately rejoin the teacher's meeting room after the first meeting ends.
